Werribee Open Range Zoo Werribee Open Range Zoo expansion.

The Waterhole precinct (or trail) that was planned to be constructed at the same time of the elephants has been scrapped which does indicate the priority as of right now is/was the elephants and will be the gondola next.

The Waterhole Precinct was going to provide new facilities for some of the carnivores (Spotted Hyena, Cheetah and African Wild Dog) and also a new Safari Station with a new Meerkat habitat. This all hinges on moving the Camels and Scimitar Horned Oryx to another habitat. I'm not sure what the intention is there.
Has there been any further word about growing possible crops inside some of the elephants paddocks corn ect?

Not sure! I had no idea this was the plan tbh.

It would be difficult to do with the elephants being the destroying machines they are.
The idea had been mentioned on here some months ago, I believe the idea was to plant a crop and when mature let the herd into that paddock to graze on the crop?

That may have been in reference to growing crops specifically for the elephants to eat!

I'll tag @Zoofan15 as I believe he may have been the one to bring this up and may know more.

This was news to me, but upon searching it appears this came from an idea @Grant Rhino proposed (not said was going to happen). Here is the relevant quote:

Just on the paddock planting, I have one idea - which I may have heard someone mention (but can't recall): I watched a tv show on new innovative methods of farming whereby a farmer planted a full field of corn and various other crops and just left it for months - then after it had grown a lot they let the herd of cattle in to eat it all. It's a form of crop rotation too. With these five paddocks they could do something similar with this for the elephants. I seem to remember hearing something about something similar - but I think it would be an awesome idea for some annual enrichment.
