West Midland Safari and Leisure Park West Midland Safari Park 2023

It started back in June you now have to book a time slot if your drive through is later you can go round the walkthrough first which is also now barrier controlled so you have to scan tickets before you go in. We went because it was a return visit but I certainly wouldn’t go there without having that offer because it’s not worth it I’d rather go to Woburn .
I wonder why the repeat the drive-through option has been stopped? It was always a plus and made it all better value for money. More restrictions, bad news...

There reasoning was to make drive through better lol but if you read some of the reviews over the summer it didn’t change much, the problem is always by the giraffe when people feed them it’s such a tight area it was always a nightmare I will only go if they do their return visit otherwise not worth it !

Having just come back from a night in one of the safari lodges (which was mostly amazing, I have to say!), I can report that you're currently not allowed to feed the giraffes (special diet apparently), so that issue seems to be solved for now at least.

Trying to establish the current situation with Persian Fallow Deer at West Midlands. After the Hunting Dogs disaster a couple of years ago there were 0.3(3 females) left. Is there any increase(or decrease) now- either from subsequent births, or new males? ( Blair Drummond are also listed on ZTL as having 2.0).

What was the hunting dog disaster

Following a storm that affected the area, the African Wild Dogs managed to get into a compound holding Barbary Sheep and Fallow Deer and all bar 3 Deer were killed. There was never any public risk, and the dogs were returned to their own compound, but sadly a number of animals were fatally injured.
That is a shame, thanks
