1:0 giraffe calf born last week

Giraffe calf cuteness

Mtembei is now just over a week old and can currently be spotted in the giraffe yard, next to their house. He'll be out and about, meeting his neighbours on the Safari Drive in the next few weeks!
Parentage of the new calf?

This includes both Henry and Strider. I believe strider is the oldest giraffe at the park. He’s certainly a character.
If I am correct they should have 3.5 Rothschildt's giraffe and 2.0 hybrids (invariably as you observered Henry and Stryder).

Incidentally, what are the details of bull Henry again?

The new calf is 100% a Rothschild giraffe. Henry and Strider are both neutered, castrated? All I know is that they can’t breed anymore so any new calf’s should be Rothschild.

They have 4.5 Rothschild. Kris, Kingsley, Mtembei and Rufus. Arusha, Akacia, Bwindi, Emali and Faida.

And 2.0 Hybrids. Henry & Strider. I believe these two were at the park before they brought in Arusha, Akacia, Bwindi and Faida as these four and Rufus were brought in to be the new breeding herd.

As Granville the rhino has left for Worburn safari park how many rhinos are left and what are there names?

13K views · 271 reactions | WELCOME GRANVILLE ✅Keepers are thrilled to announce the arrival of 5-year-old Southern White rhino, Granville from West Midlands Safari Park. ✨Known for his friendly nature and love of attention from his keepers, Granville is expected to settle in well with the rest of the rhino herd. Keepers are confident he will adapt well to Woburn’s 42-acre reserve in the Road Safari, integrating with other resident species like ostriches, cattle and eland antelopes. While keepers are excited to welcome the newcomer, they are also preparing to say goodbye to the much-loved rhino, Bonnie. Since she arrived in 2021, Bonnie (who is also Granville's auntie!) has made a profound impression on keepers and visitors alike. She will be sorely missed as she embarks on a new adventure at West Midlands Safari Park. Granville brings hope for the potential breeding of this species at the Park, as these rhino are classified as ‘Near Threatened’ due to ongoing poaching and habitat loss out in the wild. Welcome to the Park Granville! ✨ #rhino #whiterhino #woburnsafaripark #animals #daysoutuk #zookeeper #safaripark | Woburn Safari Park

Has the new hippo viewpoint opened yet?
Nothings been announced.
It was initially supposed to open alongside the new painted dog exhibit last month, but delays in construction mean it’s not finished just yet, though apparently it’s not far off being ready.
