West Midland Safari and Leisure Park West Midland Safari Park News 2022

A new female sumatran tiger called dourga arrived on Friday from fota wildlife park

What happened to Hujan and Emas? Did they both pass away? Is Dourga to be paired with the male from London zoo?

Emas moved to Rotterdam a few years ago allowing nakal to be paired with hujan. Nakal was born in 2014 to Jae Jae and melati at London. His brother budi lives at Welsh mountain. As far as I'm aware west Midlands now have 1.2 tigers with new arrival dourga a recommended breeding partner for nakal.

Exictment just came in as a new female Grevy's Zebra has just arrived at WMSP and her name is Nafeesa and she arrived from Woburn Safari Park

Just seen this on socials, she's 17yrs old seems a bit old to me to be moved for breeding purposes, do females keep breeding into their 20s?

Had nice visit today saw the young meerkats and as we were leaving the young giraffe made a appearance he was locked away but was outside we also saw 3 male adult lions in a small enclosure on the safari drive looked like it was a holding pen they were separate to the family of lions that were in the lion area does anyone know who these are and where there from ?

They had quite a few male cubs born over the last few years (since 2019) so they are potentially these.

Ah ok just didn’t see them earlier this yr when we we’re there last also they seemed well grown but I’m no expert lol

The socials are indicating something new is opening this Saturday, would it be a new tiger habitat?

The only things I can think of are
New tigers
Tiger lodge
Baby tigers (most likely not tho)
Or the latest tiger has been introduced to male

TIGER TROPICS OPENS THIS SATURDAY!

Our brand-new exhibit, Tiger Tropics, opens to our guests this weekend! For the first time in the Safari Park's history, you will be able to walk up and see tigers on foot!

Sumatran tigers, Dourga & Nakal, have been exploring their new home together, after being introduced to each other earlier this year.
Their new habitat has been designed to be enriching and encourage as many natural behaviours as possible. These big cats can be seen enjoying their new scratching posts, exploration areas, vantage points, feeding points, two pools and some cosy heat pads!

Guests will still be able to see tigers Hujan, Ben and Buster in their homes on the Safari Drive-through very exciting !07ED173E-859C-4452-AEBC-9379A7ECCC39.jpeg34C43D43-EE16-4E05-AD02-C0F460A6E78F.jpeg07ED173E-859C-4452-AEBC-9379A7ECCC39.jpeg34C43D43-EE16-4E05-AD02-C0F460A6E78F.jpeg

Interesting there's only 2:0 white tigers left, wonder when the other 1:1 died?

I had no idea they were even doing this!

I haven't been to WMSP for over 10 years now, I bet it looks unrecognisable.

The new owners seem to be doing a great job and are ploughing a lot of money into the park on a regular basis, with the new lodges being the driving motivation behind the improvements. My only criticism would be that I think the new elephant outdoor enclosures should have been at least twice the size, which would have been possible if they had linked it to the old elephant paddocks. The cheetah area also could have been a lot bigger.

how many white tigers do they have now. some one said 2.0 yet 3 names are listed. can someone confirm please or are the names above refering two 2 white tigers and another yellow one
