On March 16th, the zoo announced they renovated the eastern red-spotted newt exhibit inside the Appalachian Station building, as well as renovated the common snapping turtle exhibit (to headstart more individuals in partnership with Appalachian Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina).
On March 18th, the zoo announced they transferred a (0.1) red wolf named Sienna to Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center in Tennessee, and transferred a (1.0) red wolf named Oak to St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge in Florida in autumn 2024.
On June 11th, the zoo announced they acquired a (1.0) North American river otter named Anakin after being deemed non-releaseable, and is now on exhibit.
For the center's 100th anniversary, there's a slideshow in the barn showcasing the earlier history of the center, and many former species they used to have there.
