What are most common wildlife sounds in your area?

What wild animals are most commonly heard near where you live?

In a forest near my house, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Common Cuckoo. Some other birds are more numerous or sing better, but these sing most intensively.

At night a soundscape would be Water Frogs, Great Green Bush-Cricket Tettigonia viridissima, Field Crickets and Robins which sing long into the night. No owls or night mammals call very often.

For me the 'coo' of the spotted turtle dove is heard commonly, the carroling of the magpie, barking of the wattlebird, chirping of the blackbird and the sounds of the myna are also common. Although I can't forget the annoying sound made by Rainbow Lorikeets.

The "bem te vi " or Great kiskadee (Pitangus sulphuratus).

The bird is called by this name "Well I saw you" in Brazil because the call sounds a little like this phrase in Portuguese.

The harsh squaking of the "maritaca" or white eyed parakeet (Psittacara leucophthalmus) is very common and you hear it throughout the day as the birds fly above the city or perch on telephone wires or buildings or whatever.

Many other smaller bird species can be heard too.

Besides the obvioua ones, like black birds, robins jackdaws, wood pidgeons and house and tree sparows. Some of the more intersting sounds would be the black redstart, and at night and the evening the Common pipistrelle

From my window the sounds of Feral Pigeon, House Sparrow, Common Starling, Chaffinch, and Tui are ever-present. The calls of Kaka and Eastern Rosella are frequent as they pass by.

At night usually only Tui and Kaka although I hear Spur-winged Plovers every so often, and once I heard a Morepork.

Mostly the ever present noise of Homo sapiens.;)
Also many ringneck parakeets flying above the house screeching (like maniacs), lots of koel calls, and quite often tailorbirds twittering and crows cawing. I live in a boring part of town:(.

So many non-natives...

Yes, Rainbow Loorikeets make that pretty annoying sound. Frogs croaking are also a common occurrence, and then you have the crows who sit themselves right beside you and start calling their head off.
