What are you looking forward to at your zoo post lockdown?

For zoo regulars it has been a long time since we’ve been able to visit our beloved collections. What are you looking forward to most?
For me:
PAIGNTON
• Seeing the front of house & coffee shop staff again. Purchasing lots of good coffee and buying some new books for my kids - chipping in for their funds.
• Checking on giraffe herd (have they ventured into the Ele paddock?
• Looking out for native wildlife around the site, spending time in the open parkland (if permitted) and admiring the botanical collection.
* looking out for new hatchlings in the bird & reptile departments.
• Thanking the staff I see on site.
• Checking on any in-house animal moves.

Paignton - the apes, the mandrills, 'Link' the Ouessant ram, Monkey Heights, the Zebras, any new arrivals, new developments........ I could go on and on! As whitelion said, just being there.

Just being back at London, after the serious worry that it wouldn't survive. However, as a non-driver reliant on public transport, I doubt I'll be getting back there any time soon unfortunately :(

Even though they've been given the go-ahead to reopen, zoos still aren't out of the woods, with visitor numbers necessarily capped for safety, they'll still be running on a knife-edge, and I won't stop worrying for a while yet.

Being able to volunteer as even that was denied by inconsequential Corona-rules at home.
As a zoo visitor ..., just walking around them.

Pretty much everything at Paignton, the upcoming Banteng, what's happening with the old elephant paddock, seeing the Gentle Lemurs (I haven't seen them yet)
Dartmoor - looking forward to the arrival of the Geladas and more

Same here, although I suspect I am a bit closer to the zoo and in a different direction. Might try walking there because it isn't that far, but if it isn't feasible, might try cycling?

The white-tailed tree rat at London Zoo. It arrived from Chester Zoo in March and will be only the third Malagasy rat species I've seen. I've seen a few jumping rats, but I also saw a red-nosed rat at Tsimbazaza zoo.

I assume it is in the Clore, which will be closed. All indoor areas aren't allowed to be open

Oh really? I guess it is the right decision but then again when looked at relatively compared to the decisions the government has made with shops etc..

I heard on the news that indoor houses will be closed. That's a shame, as I doubt there will be a throng of people looking for a Malagasy rat (or for the very elusive Chinese giant salamander in the Reptile House).

Like others said, just being there! I don't really know what I want to see specifically at Chester the most...

Hah! The reptile house would be my first port of call.:D:D

We have made a conscious decision not to go for a while (to Chester). With a 3000 daily limit let them use that capacity for higher-spending visitors. They need the income.
