What are your interests besides Zoos/Animals?

Oh wow just rereading some old threads in Zoo Café, I didn't expect to surprises like this. There are some people on ZC who like Seinfeld(or at least liked, as you can watch all the episodes in a year)!:)
I've got into this series recently, because it's been available on Netflix. Seinfeld is really funny imo, and I'm happy that other ZooChatters also like it.

I like cartoons, science fiction (esp star trek!), dungeon and dragons, art, some video games, and taxidermy. Though... the latter still could be considered animals.

Hiking
Foot
Stephen King
Bruegel the elder and some other art (in particular paintings)
a bit of history and geography
Traveling
(irresistible house) cats
(passive) cycling (almost obliged where I live)
Wine (and beer, also obliged here)
Mountains & woodlands
scycrapers
tv series
music (a broad selection but certainly classical music, metal en hardcore, and a lot of other, rather melancholic style music)

renovating my house, but after a couple of years I could say this is neither an interest nor a pleasure

Mine are;

  • Palaeontology
  • The Daikaiju genera as a whole (Godzilla, Ultraman, etc.)
  • Global Mythology (I have pretty much memorized the Theogony and Homer's tales off by heart XD)
  • Global history (Ancient especially)
  • Art (making it and enjoying it and its history)
  • Science as a whole
  • Cinema (especially science fiction and horror cult classics, such as David Cronenberg's "The Fly", John Carpenter's "The Thing" and Wes Craven's "The Serpent and the Rainbow")
  • Dark subjects (unsolved crimes, demonology, notorious criminals and other disturbing topics)
  • Videogames (especially the "Age of" series, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Spyro, Ratchet and Clank and, of course, zoo-builders)
  • Animation (again, I prefer obscure titles, like Eastern European animation, such as the Soviet Jungle Book movie)
  • World literature (especially more fanciful works)
  • Youtube (mostly science channels like Unnatural History, reviewers like Caddicarus and The Mysterious Mr. Enter, and disturbing channels like Dross)
  • Dramatic arts
  • Absurdist comedy

Music for me! I play guitar, ukulele, keyboard and can sing. I love classic bands like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Queen, T.Rex and The Who but my number one of all time is David Bowie! He was fantastic.

Walking & hiking
Breeding & raising plants
Reading
Certain sports: Badminton, tennis & swimming
Visiting historical sites
Researching local history
Classical music mainly by the same composer

Besides zoos and animals I have a broader interest in the biological, environmental and life sciences, which given my degree in environmental science makes sense. I am also interested in geography, partially because part of my work is working with geographical data.

Other interests I have include history, specifically in that of totalitarian regimes and Belgian and Dutch colonial history, cults and high-control religious movements and true crime.

I like to listen to podcasts relating to any of the topics mentioned above.

I also like to watch professional road cycling.

I like Roblox.
History.
Reading.
Board games.
Music.
Games on my phone.
Traveling.
Dreaming.
Drumming in my sleep.
Spending time with family and
Making everyone laugh.

Here’s what I like

Street food and junk food
Taking walks
Seeing new sights both locally and abroad
Animation and comics (despite not having extensive knowledge on the subject)
Stuffed Toys (I do collect beanie babies)

This one isn’t an interest but it is impossible to avoid: Turkish politics

Aside from zoos and animals, I am mainly interested in (from most to least interested) ...
  • Prehistory (which often involves animals but not always)
  • Movies
  • YouTube (both watching and creating content)
  • Writing
  • TV shows
  • Books
  • Human history
  • Space
