I always thought AD was a bloke. Don't know why. But I, too, thought blospz was a female based upon the titles of some of the first photos he uploaded.

AD - maybe people think you're female because you like cats?

:p

well I think I always knew Arizona Docent was a male, but looking at his avatar it does have a feminine look to it (I don't know why - in fact it's probably a male tiger - but there's something about it that makes me think "female"), so perhaps that's the reason.

you mean like the crazy cat lady on The Simpsons?

Ok, my avatar is a tigress. Maybe I need to change it to the meanest looking, full snarling, big maned lion photo I can find! ;)

Another possibility (why people thought of me that way) is that the vast majority of zoo docents are women?

Can you use an Iberian lynx as your avatar? You're one of the few people in North America (possibly the world) who has seen it in the wild.

Maybe the avatar had something to do with it, or maybe just the word Arizona, which I have also seen used as a girl's name. I don't think 'docent' would have affected my impression as you suggested, as I didn't know what a docent was when I joined ZooChat (we don't have docents in NZ).

I didn't think you were a woman. What gender do people think I am?

Despite the somewhat feminised spelling of elephant, I assumed you were a guy, cos you were from Wyoming, and you talk about ranches in a macho cowboy way.

I always thought that AD was a man, based on some of the photography threads.

Elefante... hmmm... probably a cross between an elephant and a rhino, but elefino. :D

docent (in terms of a volunteer or guide) is a particularly American word although it is being used in some European countries now (although that may be due to Americanised translation software on computers).

In most English-speaking countries a docent is an academic position (e.g. a lecturer or teacher) at a university or similar.

That's funny. I've actually never lived on a ranch and haven't ridden a horse in years. Definitely an outdoorsy person though.

And yes, I am a guy. Wyoming has a shortage of women.

I imagine epickoala as a shoter kid that's really energenic and slightly ignorant on certain topics (not trying to insult, I am as well!). I see him as being very easily excited and kind of hyper. I also often imagine him on his iPod sitting on his bed under the covers busy in the chatroom!:D Dirty blond hair and maybe some freckles.

Do me next!

151cm actually, not sure if that's short for my age.
Energetic: absolute opposite, not very energetic at all.
Excitable and hyper: not very excitable, have been described as having the facial expressions of a stubborn brick.
Hair and freckles wrong, although I used to be blonde.
