I'm old too!I used to as well. Then I got old.
I have a rather handsome collection of zoo fridge magnets. Unfortunately because I'm too picky for my own good there are only 4 magnets in the collection:
A Steller's sea eagle from Moscow
A wisent from the New Forest wildlife park
A palm nut vulture from Paradise Park
A white rhino from Cotswold which was bought for me because I was told I didn't have enough to call it a collection...
I collect Christmas ornaments from the zoos I visit. I haven’t been successful with all of them, but managed to get a good chunk of them.
The offerings from Chester and Berlin have so far been the most impressive I’ve seen.
I'll keep an eye out for the ones in Berlin then! I can't remember Chester's, other than there being at least one with an elephant...
Of course it has to be the bear magnets!!They have added some pleasant new offerings recently - I managed to pick up a couple of quite snazzy bear magnets!

Sounds like quite the variety. May visit this weekend, still need to see the new penguin pool and find out the mystery of the new cat species hopefully.I also picked up a jaguar magnet and a black rhino magnet just to even things out!
Also, Chester Zoo has it's own set of Top Trumps! Who could forget about those?
I hope this is a growing trend.Yes! I spotted these on my last visit! I was very impressed with the idea when I saw that Colchester did them, I thought that was great, so I guess this is perhaps a new thing for me to start to collect, as I have now bought both sets.
i only buy sun bear, polar bear, oran utan and gorilla magnets for the fridge and mugs if i like them. my most loved mug is the sun bear mug from colchester zoo![]()
I used to collect plastic animals, i have, like, 2k. But I only collect like schleich and companies similar to those now.I've got a collection of plastic zoo animals from my childhood that totals more than 800. I've got a categorized collection of zoo maps that recently surpassed 1,500. I've got perhaps 80 zoo cups/mugs, at least 175 guidebooks and 200 or more zoo books. Just about everything that I just listed is worthless to 99% of the people that I've ever met in my lifetime but for me much of it is priceless.
