What does your Avatar/Profile Picture mean?

My new pfp is Lockdown from Transformers Animated (the most underrated Transformers show, and most underrated Cartoon Network show).

My Avatar is a photo of Omaroo the Koala taken at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. He is my most favorite koala because he was the first koala I was able to watch grew up after becoming a volunteer at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.... This is one of my last photos of him before he was sent to San Diego Zoo and then on to Zooparc de Beauval where he was sent to breed with their two females Alguna and Hanya..

My avatar is an elephant trying to get a trunk inside of the food thing in Zoo Granby. This elephant might be Thandi or Tutume. I think it is Tutume. He is from Germany. Well, I love that he uses his trunk to get the food out. A good enrichment for him

For a change of pace, my latest profile is a recently taken portrait of Kamari, the sole lioness of Disney’s Animal Kingdom; and while my updated avatar no longer corresponds with my username; that doesn’t mean it won’t affect the way I love elephant shrews.

My profile photo is a photo of an ebolavirus under an electron microscope. It's from the CDC, and while it's not the most famous ebolavirus photo (that credit probably goes to the first photo of an ebolavirus taken via electron microscope), this one fits better in a square pfp.

I'm in the field of zoonotic epidemiology, and hemorrhagic fevers- specifically filoviruses like ebola- are my biggest interest.

I haven't had a profile picture until today, because I was waiting until I photographed my favorite species, which is where my username is from. However, today I finally decided to pick one. The photo is my favorite picture I have taken of Jack, a double-crested cormorant from the St. Louis Zoo. He is probably my favorite individual animal at the zoo. He is a rescue bird. He was caught in a fishing line and unfortunately, he had to have one of his wings amputated. Now, he lives in the zoo's Cypress Swamp aviary and basically runs the place.

That's funny, my profile picture justly represents Hanya, one of the females from Beauval ;)

The koala is certainly my favourite animal and Hanya is the first one I knew how to recognize in zoo de Beauval and I supported her for several years, so I have a special bond with her.

My profile is the pygmy hippo Cleopatra at Franklin Park Zoo, which is the zoo I have mentioned and talked about the most as it is my “home zoo” and a place I am deeply nostalgic for.

My profile picture is my most favourite and memorable animal experience at the amazing Wildlife HQ in QLD, Australia. My partner and I were lucky enough to go into the white and black ruffed lemur enclosure and sit down on their 'sunning deck' to feed them frozen grapes on a hot summers day as they crawled all over us! They quickly became one of my favourite animals purely because of that experience and I think of myself as so lucky to of gotten to do that!

My profile picture depicts the British coelophysoid dinosaur Pendraig milnerae. It's quite a speculative design, as it is covered in protofeathers, is brightly coloured and has horn-like display feathers above the eyes, none of which are features that could ever be discerned from the fragmentary remains we have of it. I use this mantle on several of the social media platforms I am on, so I drew my first version of this design a couple of years back, and it's gone through several updates since.
