Melbourne Zoo What ever happened to Bono and Suma Orang-utan twins?

I've been looking through old books at my mothers house and I came across a book titled "The Two Of Us" - about Bono and Suma, the twin orang-utans born at Melbourne Zoo in 1978. I remember them from when I was a little boy as they are only 2 years younger than me.

Does anyone know what ever happened to them? Are they still alive, and if so, which zoo(s) are they now at?

Suma was renamed Kiani and is still at Melbourne Zoo.

Bono was transferred to Nehru Zoo (Hyderabad, India) in April 1993. He was renamed Kembar. He is now dead.

The orangutan studbook (for 2011) is below. Kembar is still listed for Hyderabad but there is a note that the listings for that zoo may not be current.

Ironically, 10 minutes before reading your reply, after a google search, I discovered the Suma-Kiani name change and then managed to find the studbook and the article about Bono/Kembars death.

I have sent the article to the lady in charge of the studbook as Kembar is still listed there.
