in every animal exhibit , i notice there is a gate for the zookeeper to access . I am curious what is behind the exhibit ???

Depends on the zoo. I was driving out the back of a zoo today on a service road and what is a short trip for guests out the front is actually a long drive for staff out the back. Generally there are service roads, off exhibit holding yards and occasionally food preparation and storage areas. For example: This zoo has two black rhino exhibits, behind them are two holding/ nightyards, there is a raceway which then joins these four paddocks to facilities for ten more rhino out the back.

In the design field we call this "back of house."

It includes:
night quarters/barns for animals
off-exhibit holding
possibly quarantine areas for sick or newly introduced animals
chutes etc. to move animals from barn to exhibit to off-exhibit holding, etc
keeper locker room, "break" space, offices
animal food storage areas
Commissary (central location for animal food storage)
loading docks, etc
veterinary facilities
zoo administrative offices (director, Curators, Human Resources,Accounts, Fund Raising, etc.)
Meeting Rooms
food service storage, offices, loading docks, etc
gift store offices, storage, etc.
Horticulture Department offices, equipment storage, perhaps plant nursery and greenhouse
Maintenance Dept. offices, equipment storage, materials storage
a gas station to refill zoo vehicles
lots of vehicles (but never enough)
lots of roads connecting all these things

there's more, but you get the idea

The first 6 items on my list are the ones most immediately behind that gate

Towards the back of the enclosure there will usually (depending on the species) be additional yards and stables. Were I worked there were 3 main points holding straw and Hay and a large straw barn at the back on the zoo. There may also be a muck clamp, there is no" hard and fast " rule it varies on the zoo and the species you are talking about?

what about the tiger , lion , wolves , hyenas and elephant . do they got indoor holding areas or night yard . and can anyone have night dens in zoo pic . i want to take a look

(trying to ignore one member who seems not really coherent).

I was also for years intrigued what is behind all these doors in a zoo. Artis zoo, Amsterdam, offers free walking tours for visitors behind the scenes every Sunday. I must say, they are more interesing than many animal species!
