What is the best contribution of monkeys to our society?

Monkeys have been in the news lately because of a botched art restoration project in Spain. Also the remaining Monkees are touring.

What have monkeys done for you?

I think that their best contribution is inspiring Ben and Jerry's "Chunky Monkey" ice cream.

I think we should be wary of allowing monkeys too much in the way of contribution to society. I saw a documentary once which postulated that if apes were kept as pets they may one day take over the planet and oust man from his rightful position at the top.
