What is the most common zoo animal that you haven't seen yet?

@StellarChaser a great Zoo to head too to cross off at least the Anteater and the Chimpanzee is the Detroit Zoo it’s not to far from the border and it’s also AZA accredited which is nice to know, they may or may not have a leopard not sure.
No leopards at Detroit, no felids besides lions and tigers actually, which is surprising considering the size of the zoo.

@LionTamarin, why post a bunch of times in the thread just listing different species when you can make one (longer) post listing all these species and any others you might think of? Not trying to be rude here but all you have to do is think before you post the first time. I know it doesn't matter very much but what you're doing is just spamming, in my opinion, and is simply unnecessary.

Eurasian Brown Bear, I feel like I ought to have seen one, but tracing through memory and places I’ve been, I am pretty certain that I haven’t yet. Additionally, since I haven’t seen any of the other subspecies, I could just say Brown Bear in general.

Surprisingly, I’ve never seen black rhinoceros in captivity despite being rather common (it may not be as common as, say, white rhinos, but they aren’t a rarity either)

For me: tayra, vicuña (common in Europe, but only one holder in the US that is seasonally closed, so this might not count), lesser rhea (might not be in the US), and a lot of North American native freshwater fish like muskies.

Only one I can think of; European Pine marten. Common in small zoos (wildparks) in Europe, but very few big zoos seem to keep them.

Live in tropical Southeast Asia
  • African bush elephant
  • Brown bears
  • Wolves
  • All camelids except guanacos
  • Aardvark (one has been added to one of my local zoos)
  • True seals
  • Any non-Asian deer species
  • Snow leopards
  • Blue wildebeest (saw a black wildebeest at my local zoo, now dead RIP)
  • Any gazelle species
  • Armadillos
  • Not a zoo animal but sea turtles

I started my lifelist two years ago, and have a lot of gaps in it still to fill, but mostly for animals I've seen previously, like African Elephants, Orangutans, and Common Hippopotamus. For animals I've truly never seen, I'm not sure what the number one most common would be, but probably some sort of Antelope species, as I haven't exactly seen many ungulates since I started paying attention to them.
Since I've posted this, I've filled in a lot of those gaps, and now have 17 zoos recorded on my lifelist. For species still off my lifelist, the most common species I haven't seen are probably brown/Grizzly bears, or some "non-AZA zoo staples", such as nilgai.
