What is your favorite Snow Leopard exhibit?

I think the one that stands out for me personally would be the enclosure for this species at Le Parc Des Felins in France.

In fact I would say that all of the enclosures for both small and large felines at that particular zoo are excellent and very very hard to beat.

Omaha’s is the best I’ve seen of the zoos of been to. The snow leopards have been pretty active most times I’ve been there jumping up and down the fake cliffs. Also they love their high perch to get views of the takin and goral exhibit next door.

I third Omaha. It’s not the biggest but by far the best I’ve seen.

Interesting that Omaha is for so many US contributors the best in the country, even though it pales in size (and sometimes looks) if you compare it to many European enclosures. Nordens Ark, Kolmarden, Zurich, Helsinki, Karlsruhe, HWP, Doue and others all are at least 2 as large as Omaha and provide at least as much structure and often way more...

Coming back to one of my original threads, I’d suppose that my favorite exhibit for snow leopards would have to be at the Central Park Zoo. Now why would I choose this facility over somewhere like the nearby Bronx Zoo? Personally, I have had more luck in seeing the species at Central Park than the Bronx; and I do think that the exhibit’s viewing opportunities are considerably better than those of the latter.

I also remember not seeing the snow leopards so easily at the Bronx Zoo, and I believe that their limited viewing areas were part of the issue. Furthermore, I really appreciate how aesthetically pleasing Central Park’s two habitats are (see above), and how secluded they feel as part of being in a far off portion of the zoo.

Separately, I have been meaning to come back to some of my oldest threads; especially since I have a lot more to say nowadays than I did initially.

I don’t know why, but the Northeast really seems to like snow leopards. The Bronx and Central Park exhibits have been displayed already, but additionally Roger Williams Park Zoo has a great snow leopard enclosure. Even Stone Zoo, which I mostly consider to be just okay, has an excellent one. I don’t know what it is.

When I was in Scandinavia in 2022, I saw a couple of astonishing Snow Leopard exhibits. Nordens Ark (Sweden) has two enclosures and one of them is a fenced-in mountain! @twilighter and I even saw a Snow Leopard, which seems almost impossible at first.

The other is at Kolmarden Wildlife Park (Sweden) and it's an old Polar Bear exhibit that was repurposed for Snow Leopards. Again...astonishing! I saw two cats prowling around their massive space.
