What is your Favorite Zoo You’ve been to/What is your favorite part of visiting the zoo?

Even though I only visited it once, it was 5 years ago (wow, it's really been that long?), and it was during a business trip where I ended up with a free day due to unforeseen circumstances (so I did not have my camera), it instantly became my favorite zoo, it left a lasting impression on me that really inspired me to visit more zoos, and I remember my experience so fondly.

The zoo in question? Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. I loved its exhibits, its huge and diverse collection, especially for reptiles, and just how much it has changed since my visit. My favorite part of that zoo was, without any doubt, Kingdoms of the Night. It's unlike any exhibit I have ever experienced, with how it just winds its way through darkness, never seeming to end. The Swamp at the end was the definite highlight, one of the most unique exhibits I've ever seen.

Runner-ups include Zoo Atlanta, North Carolina, and Jacksonville.

My favorite aquarium is the Tennessee Aquarium. No contest. Its collection is absolutely unique among aquariums and is one of the most comprehensive collections of freshwater wildlife you will ever see. The real crowning jewel of the facility, and my favorite part about it, was its turtle collection. As a HUGE turtle fan, I felt like I was in heaven with just how many turtles I saw throughout the facility (I spent an unhealthy amount of time in the Delta Country gallery). River Giants was also great; having just finished watching River Monsters, seeing all those big fish in one place was absolutely surreal.

Runner-ups include the Georgia and Florida aquariums, the latter of which is the source of the image I took this my current avatar.

For me it has to be Omaha because I saw creatures that I remember seeing as a child and also creatures I have never seen before and what creatures I saw when I was a child are the Indian rhino and okapi and I used to see them at the Philadelphia zoo when I was very young however some of the new creatures that I saw at Omaha were the African Wildcat, Bat Eared Fox, Takin, Goral, Muntjac, Tufted Deer, Sable antelope, Bongo, Pygmy Hippo, Yellow Backed Duiker, Howler monkeys, Fossa and Klipspringher.

my favourite part of going to a zoo is to usually see a lot of the tropical new world or Asian species. I like buildings that feature a mixture of animal classes, not just putting all of the reptiles and amphibians in one building

I completely agree with you on liking buildings that feature a mixture of animal classes and not just putting all of the reptiles and amphibians in one building.

The Bronx. Although I haven't been there in a very long time, I still remember it quite well. I think my favorite part would have to be the reptile house/herpetarium (my favorite portion of any zoo), and the World of Birds. As a kid, I considered these sections pretty boring, but they've really grown on me. There's just something about indoor exhibits that I really enjoy, perhaps it's the natural-looking aviaries and vivariums.
