It's generally accepted that it's appropriate, though not ideal, to keep most species of small mammals in entirely indoor exhibits. For larger mammals, opinions differ on if it is suitable to kept them in tropical rainforest houses and other buildings.
Answers will of course differ from person to person, but which large mammals do you personally believe are fit to keep indoors? I'm particularly interested on your opinions regarding primates, pygmy hippos, and tapirs, as they are among the most common ones.
