What Location Would You Choose For An Open-Range Zoo in Auckland

Just a thought: If an open-range zoo was opened up in Auckland, where would you choose to put it?

I came down to three different options:

• Auckland Domain- not the best because of the existing tourist destinations
• Cornwall Park - not ideal due to the heritage of the land
• Ambury Farm - probably the most suitable location out of the three. The farm already has a foreshore trail with birdwatching huts.

I really like the idea of an open range zoo for Auckland, but I don't think it should be within the city per se. I don't think either the Domain nor Cornwall Park are big enough, and I doubt would even be considered given their current usage. I also doubt the council would allow using Ambury Farm.

I think the best option would be to build it on the outskirts of the city, probably to the north, in Rodney, in a rural setting close to SH1. This would allow a large area of land to be used for the zoo, still relatively close to the city and with good transport links.
