I don't collect them with any purpose - I just buy what I like the look of - so I don't care about scale or anything like that. I gave away a lot of my lesser ones which I didn't want any more.

The large and small Echidnas and the Leadbeater's Possum which I mentioned earlier in the thread can be seen in the photo (all in a row as it happens, although that was unintentional). The Thorny Devil and Giant Weta also mentioned are in there too.

Not all the animals are Schleich-type figurines. There's an Arapaima carved out of rubber (from Brazil) and a Komodo Dragon carved out of wood (from Komodo), as well as a few of the ones which come in pieces and you put together yourself (like in Yowie).

Lovely selection of species! If they were more accurate (in some cases) and to scale, I woulñd want them all, hehe (except Dunkleosteus, the placoderm and the sabertooth cat. Would accept dodo as is enough recently extinct)

My colletion is even smaller than yours (I have two figures less than you) and consist in:

-Schleich: Jaguar (repainted in some zones for make more realistic), cheetah (repainted eyes and flanks), giant panda (made some sooty pelage around hind legs), giant pangolin, gemsbok, and originally harbour seal repainted as a ribbon seal

CollectA: african wild ass, tibetan antelope, hirola, giraffe (reticulated), giant eland, Ganges river dolphin, pygmy sperm whale, Pacific white-sided dolphin, bowhead whale, killer whale, leopard seal, zebra shark, sperm whale

Safari LTD: sumatran rhino, leopard shark (my first figurine!), vaquita

Papo: polar bear (repainted paws), okapi, whale shark

Unknown brand: Saola (I ordered the CollectA one but they sent me a different model)
 
I've always been very interested in these but have found the cost a bit prohibitive, along with the lack of a way to store/display them. It might be a better idea for me to get into these and stop buying stuffed animals, though ;) Other than those linked, what are the best websites to find lists/photos of different brands and species out there?
 
I like the ones that come in the Yowie candies. The problem is that you either have to buy the candy or order the figures on eBay.

Personally I've found stuffed animals more expensive than figurines for the most part!
As far as current figurines, I have found the manufacturer websites themselves to be the most helpful species-wise. Amazon and Ebay often turn up retired figurines searching by either brand name or species. I'm not aware of any websites that list all manufacturers/species made.

I’ve heard of the Waschbar....is a Washbison some sort of bovine that dunks it’s dinner? A character in children’s story? A German Cryptid? It’s definately I reference I don’t get. Fortunately there is Google..

Safari Ltd makes a Pronghorn and Asiatic Black Bear. There are a few Javan Rhinos about too. A few foxes are made, Red, Arctic, and Fennec come to mind.

Sumatran Rhinoceros (I do have Safari’s) if you have one, then you already saw one! Definitely the Safari LTD model is perfect and accurate, the other brand that did this species is Pfeiffer but much worst quality and lack of accurateness (it's like a Javan (no wool and grey) but with two horns!)

Smaller Canids: Golden and black-backed jackal, red, arctic, kit and bat-eared foxes and tanuki has been made by several brands.

Seals of the world: Literally that, really nicely painted adult pairs of every Earless Seal, Walrus. and Eared Seal species.: Walrus, Australian/Californian/Japanese/Steller's/South American sea lions, Northern, New Zealand and Antarctic fur seals, unspecified sea lion, and bearded/grey/harbour/harp/hooded/leopard/spotted/ringed/Weddell's seals as well as Caribbean and Hawaiian monk seals and unspecified (supposedly Southern) elephant seal has been made. A looot to choose!
Still missing some nice species such as Ross's, Baikal or ribbon, but you will have the nearly complete suborder if you buy them all!

Stellar’s Sea Cow: done by Albert Heijn, Club Earth, Innovative Kids and Yowies. None of them have a good quality, tough. Here is the Club Earth one, maybe the best in shape/sculpture:

Wisent (I have the one Schliech released 15+ years ago, time for another. Ditto their Roe Deer). Appart of the Schleich's one (that is enough good as for don't needing an update), you also have the species made by Albert Heijn, Bullyland, Danolin, Lineol 360, Neo-Form and Starlux. Some interested and wanted figures there, though what a price! Looks like they are a very limited edition and specialty company though.
 
I recently found my old miniature animal collection and noticed I have some unique animals such as Pronghorns, Asian Rhinos(Don't know exact species), Walruses, and even a Narwhal. I might eventually show my collection on here.
 
I'm in a "figurine fever" for now. I discovered slowly one thing in the last months. The brands for Europe, America and Australia are more or less the same and many online shops have them and ships worldwide. With these you can cover an interesting range of species. But Japanese brands are a completely different, isolated world, only available for Europeans via eBay or Amazon and the like, and with a completely different selection of rare and unique species.
