Maybe it's more that they like them! I saw lioness, Indu, eating one a little while ago.

Absolutely. In a zoo their Hunting instincts are largely frustrated, so anything that moves will trigger a hunting response, even birds like pigeons which they would probably ignore in the wild.
 
It was nice to see some natural behaviour. The elegance that she showed getting up was stunning. The lack of it whilst getting down was funny.
 
Tigers are not naturally tree climbers so they can be rather ungainly in that sort of situation.
