What would you do if you were insanely rich??

Something I've been dreaming about often, more so than usual.
What would you do with 80 Billion quid/Dollars
Quite a slightly large sum of money and kinda random as well but I always imagine getting this sum...for some reason.

So what if you had this amount of money? Would you use it for personal gain? To destroy the world or save it??
The amount isn't realistic but please don't go overboard such as 'Oh I'd build an army of robot lions to take over the world and a super nitrocalitic laser to destroy it when I die'

So....here's a few things I'd do with the money

1) First of all I'd do up the house. It's falling apart around here, the gardens a shambles and it's not very private so for what I'd have planned would be a few million

2) Driving lessons and a decent car. I'm honestly not someone who'd go out in flash cars at high speeds, I'm only someone who wants a decent pratical car.

3) I'd buy the field next to my house. Currently it's got a nice population of wildlife and the current owners only use it for cows. But I'm afraid it's going to be sold to people who want to build stupid holiday houses or something which would be absolutely bad. So I'd buy that, rebuild with a new fence with little gaps to allow wildlife to pass in and out. Also replant so e trees, build a hide or two and a run area for the dogs. Also the place would have loads of bird feeders hanging about and bird houses. A haven for wildlife!

4) I'd give 50 million to WWT For projects and conservation

5) Build a cavern under my house to store all my money.

6) Go and buy a brilliantly awesome penthouse to live in for a good few years. I see myself as a loner so to move out of the house is something I want to do but I fully intend to come back and live for the rest of my days.

7) Set up a wildlife rescue centre near my house and hopefully a Pet rescue just across the road for dogs, cats and others.

Spending spree at GAME, HMV, Amazon etc I'd also go for several little things like an awesome model of the TARDIS to sit outside in the garden, A model giganatosaurus and columbian mammoth.

9) I'd give 10 million to several zoos and conservation projects around the world. A zoo that has a special place in my heart, Belfast zoo, would get a 50 million, as it started my interest in animals and has inspired me with every visit.

10) I'd give 70 million to a lot of charities, for diseases, animals, abused children etc.

11) For the zoos, conservation projects and charities I'd give a top up of 10 million a year

12) I'd start up my own zoo/wildlife park/Aquarium the biggest and best. I don't want to be in competition with any other zoo but I want to be a huge flagship in conservation and zoo design. This would probably cost about...oh 4 billion for everything I have designed in my mind.

13) I'd give 50 million to favelas and poor places around the world. Another 100 million to Africa to help the needy

14) Hand some money to as many homeless people I see.

15) In the end I'd probably buy more areas of land, mainly for conservation purposes

16) I'd travel the world, see the place, enjoy life and with a lot left over I'd pass on the fortune to my hopefully awesome children or to shared charities when I die....if that day ever comes?

So how about you guys? tbh I find this very therapeutic and relaxing, and maybe a bit wishful. Still it's a fun thing to do

My goal is to do an African trip around the whole of Africa starting from South Africa and travelling up to and finishing at Egypt. Notable events I would like to see are: Mountain Gorillas, Wilderbeest/Zebra migration, The 'big 5', Chimpanzees of Gombe and the 7 giant bull elephants of Kruger.

Hold on: 80 billion dollars? Geez, that is more a dream of a dream than a possible reality. I couldn't even imagine me with 1 million dollars when I grow up than 80 billion!

I woul also add building my whole backyard into a fully functional walk-through aviary complete with paths and signs (maybe a waterfall with some koi in a small pool as well). I would also definately donate to worldwide charities such as WWF and others and support my family.

$80billion would make me the world's richest person. Just putting it out there.

I'd build the dream zoo, though naturally it wouldn't be open to the public if it didn't need to fund itself. ;)

Seriously - you couldn't have that much money and not donate at least 95% of it to charitable works. $80billion would put you in a position to eliminate malaria and other diseases, build the roads, railways, schools, hospitals, sewerage systems and water treatment plants that the developing world needs, place massive tracts of endangered key ecoregions under protection and provide seed capital for technological innovations to save people and planet.

Here's something that might be controversial. I'd fund a mosquito extinction campaign (believe it or not, studies have not come up with one significant niche they fill that other species cannot quickly fill. It is worth eradicating them simply to remove the world's number one vector of blood-borne diseases).

You could probably buy a few others as well.

On a separate note;

$80 billion dollars could fix alot of things in the world. $1 billion alone could build you a very decent private zoo and the interest you would earn on what's left over would keep the zoo running for a very long time to come.
 
I would temporarily move to indonesia and buy oodles of land for javan rhinos and gibbons, and plant them with wildlife-friendly foliage.
I'd also build another rehabilitation centre for the javan gibbons which are being kept illegally as pets, so they can be reintroduced to the wild.
Obviously I'd have the big house that a lot of people dream of, with a massive reptile collection, including a breeding group of chinese alligators. I would also attempt to buy the Hainan island (the entire thing) and turn the lot into forest with a massive bunch of security guards to help the Hainan gibbon population to recover.
That's all I can think of at the moment
