Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden What's Gnu at the Cincinnati Zoo - 2016

For now, before the tapir is placed on exhibit, the zoo placed a single Crested Screamer into the habitat

Turns out I was wrong, the "future and newly renovated black rhino exhibit" will not be for a black rhino it will be for an Indian Rhino. I do not know whether or not it will be for the nearby Manjula oor if the zoo is getting a new one.

There are also a few changes as well. In Jungle Trails, in the Orangutan/Gibbon exhibit, the vines in the outdoor habitat have been raised and expanded from tree to tree for better brachiation. In Manatee Springs, the Hermit Crab exhibit was taken off display completely, the green tree frogs and brown anoles were as well, and lastly dollar Sunfish have been placed in the former, small saltwater tank.

In Dragons! The unnecessary walls that create small turns have been taken down by both the entrance and exit.

In World of the Insect, in the aviary, the Jumbo Fruit Dove and the African Pygmy Goose have been taken off. Sad that I'd never see the "goose" again, I discovered that it was moved to the aviary in Jungle Trails.

In Wings of the World a female Andean Cock-of-the-Rock replaced in the Pesquett's Parrot

Duke, the Sea Lion was off exhibit

The zebras seem to be off exhibit as well. There was no longer any signage

Thank for the updates, Moebelle!

It is certainly intriguing to hear that the zebras were off exhibit and that their signage had been taken down... I wonder what is up there? With you mentioning that the renovated rhinoceros yard will be home to an Indian rhinoceros and not one of the black rhinoceroses post breeding, it made me wonder if they're possible expanding the zebra yard into Manjula's yard and moving her into the renovated yard? With the okapis receiving an expanded yard last year, the zebras would definitely be a good candidate for the same! ... As much as I would like to see the zoo bring in a bull and breed Manjula naturally...

While it was not something that I had ever particularly noticed, the removal of those extra walls in Dragons will actually be quite wonderful, as it can get quite congested in there quite easily!

I'm also glad to hear that the pygmy geese have only been relocated! They are always a delight.

It's quite good to hear that the gibbons and orangutans will be able to more readily brachiate through the exhibit. I've always felt that the exhibit had a lot of untapped potential.

It's never good to hear about Duke being off exhibit given his advanced age... Which also begs the question, what are the zoo's plans for the sea lion exhibit after his passing? It will certainly be interesting to see.

More Jungle Trails updates. The emperor Scorpion was replaced by Darkling beetles and for whatever reason, the aye aye exhibit was exceptionally dark. So dark that you're eyes wouldn't get used to it.

After being completely renovated, the first tiger exhibit once again inhabits the white tigers while the second exhibit is next to be under construction
