Whats with your "NAME"

It is not that i don't want it, but the KMDA (antwerp Zoo) is very carefull with the copyrights of these. Each picture has to be asked i am afraid. But the imagebank will stay online at the website of the Zoo, don't be afraid...

The scan i will upload... and now? Back about our names? :p

When he was young, Gust went outdoors with a Zookeeper. Therefor he is so famous now. I never saw him in real life, but his legacy is still living in Belgium...
Every big thing in Antwerp is called a "big Gust"

Interesting how the legacy of silverback Gorillas often lives on long after them. I saw Gust and his mate Kora (indoors of course) at Antwerp- I really think they should have been sent to a Zoo that could have kept them under better conditions than being permanently indoors.:( Kora outlived Gust and died only a few years back at Touroparc Romaneche in France. At least there she had a little grassy outdoor area.:)

Mine may seem like something from a Terry Pratchett novel, but actually its just my first name, I have nothing to hide :) (and oh yes it actually derives from a god in one of the old Scandinavian mythology sagas)

DyerMaker refers to a great Led Zeppelin song, and to Kieron Dyer, former midfielder for Newcastle United. It was idiots like me who got excited about him in 1999 and bought shirts with his name on it, only for him to do squat for 8 years.

Got mine from the Simpsons character. I used to be an operations manager at a health club. I lift weights a lot, so I was pretty muscular and also had a huge red beard. I was also known for having a short temper when bothered by just about anyone else on staff (I had a large to do list and not much time to do it all, and I had to stay and work for free to finish). Sooner or later, my regional boss (and a good friend) started calling me groundskeeper Willie b/c I acted and sort of looked like him. It was meant to be derisive, but I thought it was hilarious. I even had an action figure of him on my desk. Arrrggh.

I personally think it is an interesting name, different from most, which makes you unique, :)
ahahaha, not even my parents call me by my chinese name, only some of my friends that are of asian background do.

Hmmn, yes as a name Granville is interesting as it has local history to it and being unusual it does lead to some interesting conversions. What more could you ask for than a built in "ice-breaker"?

No I was referring to me being boring and using my given name. :)

oh yeah I knew that, just trying to spread some comfort saying that it is a unique given name.

Foz: erh well one of my favourite animals are the fossa and i have adopted Geoff the fossa cub at Newquay zoo, but being the cool and sophisticated person that i am ;) i love the muppets and Fozzie bear. and i think the Foz rolls off the tongue quite easily its short and sweet :D

Hi Zooman,

The name Zaphod is from the Book Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. It was the given name of the first Alpha wolf I ever worked with. He was at our zoo for 11 years before he was euthanized due to advanced stomach cancer---1313is just because 13 is my favorite number.

Thought l might put this thread back in the mix given all the new members and there unique names!

It's the title of a song from my favorite Dutch band Within Temptation, been using it for over 8 years now on the internet.

Mine is very unimaginative. I intended to think up something gorilla related but in the end I just plumped for my initial and surname (my name is Marie Hale). I wish I'd chosen something more interesting now :D

I jsut could not figure yours out! NOw l know why LOL

I'm a lark not an owl, so as a teen when I would go out with friends I was always the first to call it a night and go to bed, usually by standing up and saying "right time for bed". In the era that my friends and I grew up in was also an animated TV show called the magic roundabout with a character called zebedee whose catchphrase was " boing, time for bed", the boing bit being that he had a spring and bounced everywhere instead of walking. My friends picked up on this, called me zebedee and its stuck ever since with most of my long term friends calling me that instead of my real name.
