When Does spring Start For You?

Every when I see the first sliders - both in my garden and in the wild - I know spring is in the air !

What are sliders exactly? I know of slider turtles but it occurred to me that you might be speaking of something different.

For me, the arrival of the first Wheatears (earliest true summer migrant).Usually 2nd week or middle of the month, but one was already seen at Portland on the 2nd March.

It's supposed to be spring here but it's freezing temperatures and now I'm cranky cause I can't wear my crop tops or go to the zoo. I guess I could go to the zoo, but I hate the cold.

Spring starts the day the last snow melts. This varies from late February to even rarely mid May. Last year we saw snow up to my last day of school in May. This year it is already hitting 70 and spring peepers are calling, so I hope spring is here.

Today spring started for me, saw my first Slider turtle sun-bathing in a small pool in the middle of my village !

Anyways, it officially is March 20, but actually for a couple of days now the snow has melted fairly well.
