So, it seems that the cost of new exhibits - especially big-budget feature exhibits, but also the myriad of smaller, simpler examples that still seem to so often run to a couple of million dollars - is one of the bigger controversies here on ZooChat.
I'm interested in seeing exactly what money gets spent on. Does anybody know of the whereabouts of project budgets/actuals for zoo exhibits? Any example could be interesting, and I'm sure there are public zoos out there that have released such information in accordance with their local financial disclosure regulations. Does anyone have some figures that we can pick apart?
