There has been a thread on the best elephant exhibits in the U.S.: Ranking the U.S Elephant Exhibits

But what about rating them on a worldwide basis? The best one I've seen in Europe is Zuerich's, but I admit I've been to only a half dozen European zoos.

I'm thinking of working on a set of Sri Lanka exhibits for my Fantasy Zoo thread, That would mean including the Sri Lankan subspecies of the Asiatic Elephant as one of the exhibits, and I'm looking for some exhibits as models/inspiration.

I think it would depend on what makes an exhibit "the best". If size is a big factor, then I think Cabarceno in Spain is a contender.

They do look impressive for sure, I'm not sure how suitable they are in terms of elephant husbandry but at least superficially with the way they look I think they resemble almost a rift valley landscape.

Fair question, but I guess I'd be looking for overall impact on the animals and visitors, so not just size, but also quality of indoor housing if provided, substrate(s), exhibit landscaping and "furniture", enrichment, visitor viewing, whether both sexes are kept and, if so, how the male(s) is/are handled/housed, etc.

What's the area of the elephant exhibit at Carbaceno?

What's the area of the elephant exhibit at Carbaceno?
56 or more acres in size
