Which closed zoos do you regret not visiting?

Beaumaris Zoo in Tasmania, especially around or before 1936. Unfortunately I wouldn't be born yet for the better part of a century.

Why? Just to see a Thylacine? You'd be much better off as having visited London Zoo when they had one of their Thylacines because you'd have been able to see a whole lot more species at the same time, some of which would probably also be now-extinct if you picked your date of visit correctly.

If we're going with past zoos "if I'd been born then" I wish I had got to visit Montezuma's Zoo. That would have been really interesting.

I was staggered not to find Bristol Zoo listed on here, but I realise I am probably the only UK member of ZooChat never to visit. It closed a week before I moved to the area for University, and before I was more than a cursory viewer of this forum. Species wise, I've seen pretty much everything it had to offer elsewhere, but being such a historic and varied collection it pains me to have never visited.

There was a birdpark in Metelen, which is only circa 20 min away from were I lived, that vlosed down a few years ago but I mever heared about it untill a month ago

I basically walked right by the National Aquarium of DC at least twice and had the perfect opportunity to go inside, but I had already been to the Baltimore (and now only) facility and knew it would pale in comparison, and also it being DC, there were other things people in the group wanted to do.

I feel the same about. Living Coasts,whenever in South Devon ,always went to Paignton Zoo with the intention of going to Living Coasts,before you know it the opportunity has gone.

We’re Paignton Zoo / Newquay Zoo / Livings Coasts members and now I’m gutted we didn’t do LC more! I think we went 4 or 5 times in the 5 or so years we had membership before it closed.

Paignton has always been our ‘home zoo’ and when the kids were toddlers there was more room for them run, more parks to climb and free parking.

If only we’d known!

For me I would have loved to visit both Living Coasts and the Rare Species Conservation Centre (or at least the sandwich wildlife park). Also, though I do feel kind of guilty for wanting to see it, (since the husbandry seems to have been quite bad) I would have also liked to visit the Faliro zoo, which closed in 1916 after 14 years of being open.
