Which countries have you visited?

The first time my family visited Los Angeles we drove in late at night and so we got McDonalds just before arriving at the hotel. Six hours later and we were all throwing up and continued to do so for the rest of the day.

Having said that, when travelling I frequently eat at McDonald's because of the convenience and in countries where I don't speak the language, I usually have some idea of what I'm getting.

You can set your watch to food poisoning, can't you? 6 hours seems about right.

See, why I chose Burger King, was because I thought they had a high turnover (like McDonalds) and therefore the food had to be fresh. I guess that aint always the truth.

I don't buy McDonalds in Australia, but man, is it a welcome sight in a foreign country! :D

Countries you have visited

The thread here is supposed to show the countries that you have set foot on, as I like travelling, I found a page in which you can design the map of the countries you have been to, therefore every member could create and post its map.

If you want to comment anything about your trips (fvourite one, the best animal etc.) you´re welcome

the webpage is this one: World Travel Map - Create your own!

My map is this one: toto98's Travel Map - TravBuddy

I hadn´t seen the thread @nanoboy, but it would be nice if the map could be implemented in either of the threads, since I found it as a very nice idea, although the lists can be also interesting.

And to play along:

USA
Mexico
UK
France
Switzerland
Lichtenstein
Austria
Italy
Germany

US
Mexico
Jamaica
The International Zone at the UN headquarters in NYC.

I am not much of an international traveler. I probably fit 99 percent of the stereotypes people have about Americans especially Southerners haha.

My next big trip will be my present to myself when I finish my Masters Degree. I am thinking South Africa. Mostly because I have been told it is the closest thing to America in Africa when it comes to handicapped access and I want my father to go as well.

Also Hix, next time you are in California go with In and Out Burger.

Also as a Social Studies teacher I would say while the Queen is on Australia and Canada's money it has to do with history and the commonwealth.

I would actually think at "nation" level then England Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland would count as one (the UK)

Canada
Japan
Mexico
United Kingdom
Germany
Austria
Saudi Arabia
Somalia
Kenya
Egypt
France
Netherlands
Belgium
South Korea
Luxembourg
Ireland
Poland
Kyrgyzstan
Turkey

Sofar nobody seems to have been in the Gambia ! In Western Europe it is now offered regulary by travel agencies and realy worth a visit esp. if you love birds !
Next to lots of birds I also saw hippos, several species of colobusses, baboons, crocodiles and so on.
For big game ( elephants, lions, zebras ) it's not the right place but for the smaller wildlife its a real nic

Gambia is a rising star in the tourist world, so much so we do a case study on it in GCSE Geography, analysing the effects of foreign investment on an LEDC (less economically developed country). If investment continues at this rate, Gambia could reach South African levels of economic development.

Way too few. Only 13 different ones. I haven't even been outside Europe.

Denmark (I live here)
Sweden (various places in Southern Sweden, Stockholm and Sälen)
Norway (various places in Southern Norway, Oslo and Tromsø)
Finland (Turku)
United Kingdom (London)
Germany (Berlin, various places in Northern Germany, Celle)
Austria (some place in Tirol)
Czech Republic (Prague)
Netherlands (Some resort in the northern part of the country)
Belgium (Brussels)
Italy (Riva del Garda)
Portugal (Tavira)
Spain (Ayamonte, only as a daytrip though)

And I'm going to the U.S. (New York) next month.

United States
Canada
Mexico
Jamaica
Costa Rica
England
France
Sweden

Since I'm BIG (airplane seats can be painful) and I only speak English, I'm not in a hurry to go many places outside of North America. I've been to 34 U.S. states (including Alaska) and 3 Canadian provinces.

By comparison, my brother has been to more than 60 countries and every continent except Antarctica. His son went to more countries in the 9 months before he was born than I've been to in my whole life! Of course, he can't remember those very well.

not sure if this will work, but it is a map of the countries I have been to (10% of the world's countries apparently):

Chlidonias's Travel Map - TravBuddy

Alphabetic list of countries:

Australia
Brunei
Burma (Myanmar)
Cambodia
China
Fiji
Germany
India
Indonesia
Malaysia
Mongolia
New Caledonia
New Zealand
Russia
Samoa
Singapore
South Korea
Switzerland
Thailand
UK

Funny, the 2 continents you've been very active on ( Australia and Asia ) are the only ones missing on my own list ( but I hope this will changes in the next couple of years ). :)
