Which Exhibit opening in 2011 are you most looking forward too

To me, wild dogs seems to be a massive thing for Chester, since any form of 'large' canid has always been something missing. It's almost as big as Chester getting bears again, and I think the only thing after that that it'll be missing is a species of hippo. Hopefully we'll get one if not both in Natural Vision though :)
But Chester do have bears, speckticled ones!

I'm looking foward to the new (permanent) sun bear enclosure being completed and also what will go in Sasha's enclosure next!!

Sorry, I worded it wrong :)

I meant it should be as big (IMO) as when the Spectacled bears arrived. When the dogs arrive, hippos will be the only real ABC left I think. Just crossed wires :o

A new penguin exhibit for some time just after Easter, dunno if/what Whipsnade are planning.

I'll guess I'll say I look forward to Marwell's new cheetah exhibit at Easter as it'll be the first 'proper' new exhibit since 2009's African Valley, but so far I know it's going to have a cheesy name and at least one blob of (very) fake rock! :p

The new Sun Bear enclosure will probably me yet another Colchester special,as for Sasha`s enclosure don`t think the zoo will change things very much at all,so for me nothing exciting at all,but then if we all liked the same things it would be a very boring world full of zoo`s all looking like Colchester;)

I guess I would have to say the "Night Hunters" exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo.

The new baboon exhibit at Melbourne Zoo looks exciting. I can't wait.

Phoenix Zoo's orangutan exhibit for me.

Yes, this is significant because it is the only great ape exhibit in the entire state of Arizona. (I have been told we cannot have them in Tucson due to a dust-born condition called Valley Fever).

The new jaguar exhibit at The Living Desert, which is also scheduled to open April 1. (Unless, of course, it is just an April Fool's Day joke ;)).

Significant not just because I love cats, but because it is being built in their Sonoran Desert garden to represent that habitat. Of course that is where I live (Tucson is in the Sonoran Desert) but also I don't know of any other jaguar exhibits that represent a desert/mountain landscape - most of them are tropical landscapes.

I'm excited for San Diego re-opening it's Horn and Hoof Mesa!!

....oooo wait that's not happening....

too soon??

I wish I had a list of all the zoos who are completing projects by 2011. I'm sure there's many and I'll have to look.

So I'd have to go with the ones I know from local zoos:

-Seneca Park Zoo's Lion Exhibit (though I'm not sure it will be done when they expect it to be) and the updates on the Rocky Coast exhibits.

-Cleveland's Elephant exhibit. I know many zoos have opened new ones recently or are in the process, but this is one I can actually travel a short distance to see. And a good excuse to return to the zoo.

In 2010 there was a long list of big-budget, mega-complexes opening that were extraordinary (and 5 huge exhibit areas just in Texas!) but 2011 seems muted and ordinary in comparison. Thanks very much for posting the list, but several of the zoos won't have their exhibits open until at least 2012. Example: Denver, Reid Park, Oklahoma City (elephants in the spring but no other Asian species until at least the following summer), maybe Honolulu, etc. Also, Detroit Zoo's renovated lion grotto will open in 2011.
