Which seahorses in captivity ?

I visited in April 2016 but don't recall seeing any (likely gone by then - I see last collection was October 2015) I will try to find my notes - unfortunately this is one of those frustrating collections where photography is banned.

In Japan's Toba Aquarium I've also seen Hippocampus coronatus and H. trimaculatus.
 
New York Aquarium recently returned seahorses at Ocean Wonders: Sharks! as of 2018.

Interesting, but only 3 species of tank-bred seahorses are actually available currently, together with weedy and leafy sea dragons :cool:

The list is more a general availability list, so the exact species currently available can fluctuate. In general though these species should be available on the regular under normal circumstances.

Also not every species is listed on their website, as they have for example had bull-sharks that were not signed. I guess this does however apply mostly to very special species like large sharks and rays that don't sell to private keepers.

I have seen most of the out of stock species available off and on. Having tank bred sea dragons of both species available is highly interesting, I wonder where they get them from.
 
I've seen 10 species of Hippocampus in public aquaria: abdominalis, barbouri, comes, erectus, guttulatus, hippocampus, ingens, kuda, reidi and subelogatus.
 
Hippocampus mohnikei is kept at Kyoto Aquarium

Seahorse world keeps a variety of species, including H. barbouri, reidi, whitei, kuda, abdominalis, and even a captive bred hybrid of angustus X elongatus.
