Which zoos closure surprised/disappointed you the most
As I've mentioned elsewhere on ZooChat, the closure of both Kilverstone and the Rare Species Conservation Centre disappointed me enormously; they are definitely the two now-closed zoos that I miss the most.

Kilverstone closing was not only a disappointment but also a great surprise for me as I visited regularly and had no idea that closure was imminent. Although a huge disappointment, the closure of the RSCC wasn't a surprise; I was almost expecting it.

Other than Bristol, Cricket St Thomas surprised me because with decent investment, I think it could have been a really good place. The view across the valley was crying out for some spectacular species
I miss the old Bristol Zoo enormously too but it's not really closed; it's just moved to a different site.

Agreed, Cricket St. Thomas was a lovely setting for a zoo but, sadly, it never lived up to its potential.

Marineland of the Pacific, Palos Verdes, CA, Sea World, Ohio, Lion Country, CA - all in US and all closed 20+ years ago. There are other smaller (mostly privately owned zoos) that have closed, but that was probably a good thing.

I heard about SeaWorld Ohio as a kid and always thought it'd be a great weekend road trip for the family someday... and in retrospect, I probably heard about it around the time it closed anyway, and did not find out for some years because pre-internet.

Indian Boundary Park Zoo slightly bums me out because it was close to Chicago and could've been an easy day trip, even if it sounds there was hardly much to see.

1. Zoo Wassenaar (Netherlands)
2. SeaWorld Ohio in Aurora (USA)
3. Marineland Palos Verdes (USA)
4. Dusit Zoo Bangkok (Thailand)
5. Safaripark Gänserndorf (Austria)
6. Belle Vue Zoo Manchester (UK)
7. Catskill Game Farm (USA)
8. Windsor Safari Park (UK)
9. Reptilienzoo Regensburg (Germany)
10. Aquarium Erfurt (Germany)

And these are only those that have closed (and I miss/wish I have visited) during my lifetime.
