South Lakes Wild Animal Park which zoo?

i remember as a child, i used to visit a zoo, (near wales i think) where, upon driving past, on a motorway, i think, you could see the rhino paddock, on a sloping hill.

does any one have any idea which zoo this is?

i remeber there were deffinatley babirusa, in a enclosuere around a zig zaggy path, going past lots of trees and foliage?

and i maybe remember seeing okapi? but not deffinatley.

many thanks

This has got to be South Lakes though that would throw the 'near Wales' location out the window. The rhinos in a sloping paddock viewable from a dual carriageway and the babirussa would fit.

It would help maybe to know what decade we are talking about. Okapi were Bristol and London only for decades. Babirusa similarly were just at Jersey for years.

no i think it was definatley south lakes now, it would be early this millenium, but i remeber the tiger enclosure being just like south lakes, and free roaming lemurs!

thanks!
