Many zoos are currently shrinking their species diversity due to money reasons, master plans. But I want to know specifically which zoos and/or aquriums and why the loss of species. Thank you in advance to anyone who answers.

In many cases they were small-sized urban zoos that couldn't afford the housing of many large animals like Elephants, Hippos or Polar Bears. It applies to London, Antwerp and many others in Europe (like both Parisian zoos).
They had often to reduce the collection of smaller species (e.g. birds, reptiles) due to animal welfare standards and regulations on imports.

Detroit Zoo my home zoo has lost a lot of animals. They lost there bush dogs a bunch of their farm animals, Seals (but replaced them with sea otters) they lost there American and Seberian Black Bear but they ended up merging all three habitats together to give their three grizzly bears more space which is good. They don't have prarie dogs as of this date of this writing. They recently lost there Sloth. But on the flip side they have gained a couple new species in the past couple of years. Sea otters which I mentioned above, Allens swamp monkey's they got them in the summer of 22 and they have had lots of diffrent animal births over the course of a couple years. They think now that there polar bear is pregnant. Yay! They have had lots of snow monkey births and they just got 4 new gorillas 3 female and 1 male to replace the other 3, don't know where they went but was told they went to another zoo.
