I recollect Mhorr being imported from somewhere in Spain circa 1979.

Most surely. My memory is hazy. The supplier, who I recollect meeting was some titled Spanish Count. This may ring some bells as to the origin.

PD, that explains it all ... given your long sojourn/experience at Al Ain Zoo. Curiously enough, they are still not in the Almeria Mhorr gazelle studbook!!

I don't know if Al Ain still have them. I have only made three very quick visits in the last 31 years.
