White-tailed eagles to return to lowland England

Today, Natural England has announced that it has issued a license to release up to 60 white-tailed eagles over the next five years on the Isle of Wight. The project is being overseen by the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Forestry England. The first releases are expected to take place in the summer of this year.

The first six white-tailed eagle chicks, taken under license from nests in Scotland, have been reared and released onto the Isle of Wight.
