Whould you expand a zoo, and if so, what animal whould you add?

The example I propose is ZSL London zoo. It's a great zoo but without expanding, which seems unlikely, the zoo would have tod revamp an existing area. If I were to expand the zoo I would add rhinos (of any species) and orangutans.

Where would you expand it? The London Zoo has tried to do that in the past, but the locals stopped it because they didn’t want to pay to go to the local park

It's just speculation, so I really didn't think about it. Maybe, thought unlikely, if a charismatic species arribes at the zoo like pandas or sea lions the public would permit the expansion.
The again is just speculation so highly unlikely.

It depends a lot on if we're using a sort of "unlimited expansion" logic or if we have to answer the questions about the surrounding area, although if we take the latter approach it kind of kills the thread as there aren't a lot of urban areas that would willingly cede land to a zoological facility unless it is already owned.

I think you could expand in a limit, I really don't think a zoo, even in speculation, would get a lot of territory. The main ex for me is Elephant trek in Cincy. It's huge but it's a good chunk of territory. So where going to put a realistic limit. No huge expansions, just expansions that would be needed or fitting.

According to Zootierliste, 3 Japanese aquaria have kept slender oarfish (Regalecus russelii)
If they have only kept them in Japan, and don’t even keep them anymore, I doubt London zoo or in fact, any European zoo will get them anytime soon

I Think london zoo getting orangutans is one of my main hopes for it's future too. I think the site currently fenced off next to Monkey valley would be good, maybe even (Just my Imagination Speaking Here) A bridge across the canal for the orangutans to cross onto the other side of the zoo where the Gorilla Roundhouse is.
