Why are so many people completely clueless on how dangerous zoo animals are?

Maybe I’m exaggerating, but there’s a book series called Who Would Win? that’s more or less Animal Face-off for kids. It features some dumb matchups, like Wolverine vs Tasmanian Devil (why would they even fight? They live nowhere near each other. Two similar animals can exist without fighting to the death).
They also gave the gorilla plot armor in its episode and now people think gorillas can take on grizzly bears and other animals that would wipe the floor with them.
Animal Face-off was also likely inspiration for Rooster Teeth’s Death Battle series, so we can blame this show for the whole “Goku vs Superman” debate.
When I have the time, I’ll make a post and rank every fight in Animal Face-off from most fair/realistic to least fair/realistic.
You do know the Goku vs Superman debate started long before Rooster Teeth's Death Battle series, right?

Oh…
Well, Animal Face-off was a direct inspiration for the travesty that is Jurassic Fight Club, which is worse.
While I have never heard of Animal Face-off or Jurassic Fight Club, I am familiar with Who Would Win? and Death Battle. Both are very fun "what if?" scenarios exporting theoretic fights between different species or fictional characters, respectively. Both are fairly well made and well thought out. It sounds to me like you are complaining about them only because you don't like some similar series.

I just youtubed gorilla vs leopard episode, and the gorilla kung fu chopped the leopard’s spine. That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. Leopards hunt gorillas and the leopard in the episode was able to jump on the gorilla’s back. The fight should’ve ended right there with the leopard winning.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I like me a good Death Battle every once in a while, and maybe I’ll check out Who Would Win?.
In all fairness, Animal Face-off is a guilty pleasure of mine. Jurassic Fight Club is pure garbage, though.

And the fight was at night, no less. Leopard should’ve won, but the gorilla had the power of plot armor.
Also, is it just me, or was the gorilla’s arm moving faster than the mid-leap leopard?
Did the gorilla slow down time?!

Clint’s Reptiles put out two videos critiquing Who Would Win? books (and I suspect there will be a third in December). Clint’s complaints are pretty much what you said. The plot armor given to the chuckwalla in the first book ended up becoming a running joke on the channel.

I've seen them ! xD
The chuckwalla controlling geologic forces to kill the mamba is ridiculous. Equally ridiculous is in the second book where a leatherback sea-turtle [note: a jelly-eater] gets stung by a man-o-war.
Jerry Pallotta, the writer of these books, is perhaps equally famous for his set of alphabet books. Some of which do also have their own sets of inaccuracies.
Overall I don't think that these books give a helpful view into animal biomechanics or behavioural biology. Nature isn't a Disney movie.....it isn't Animal Fight Club either.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in the world whose interest in wildlife can only be aroused by a sense of danger and power, and within that group, some who truly see nature as a zero-sum game.
