In the thread: "Species we have lost over the last quarter of a century" I read that Black-footed cat had disappeared from European zoos. Do anyone know the reason for this to happen?

If I remember correctly, a disease killed the young ones and as such Europe never had a stable population (could be wrong but I'm sure it was because of a disease).Thankfully, Magdeburg and a few other zoos are planning to import them, although it's been quite some months we haven't heard any news...
