Why no platypus in zoos outside Australia?

I think the placement of the platypus at the SDZ Safari Park was a bold yet smart choice. It’s the much less visited between both the zoo and safari park. They always attract a crowd ever visit prior to the lockdowns, rivaling the big cats and elephants at the park. They seem to thrive well and take advantage of their entire exhibit. Yes its a dark room but it fits them so well and I’m all for making their homes convenient for the species to be exhibited. I hope this opens a window with more unique animals from Australia to be exported while allowing some more imports of other species typically not seen in their zoos.
