Wicksteed Park Wicksteed Park

I’m more interested though in the Wellingborough zoo aspect, I’ve live around the area for a number of years and never hear of it, and I see it’s not in the media section but a quick google and it used to hold a number of big animals elephant, tiger, lion and polar bear to name a few all in total inadequate enclosures for today but still as any one else ever hear of this collection

Clin Keeling's book Where the Crane Danced (1985; 2020) features a chapter on Wellingborough Zoo.

I have just spoken to the Managing Director of Wicksteed Park a moment ago and in late November the reindeer is due to arrive soon

I have just been over to Facebook a moment ago and look what Wicksteed Park has now got

It's 2 new Tortoises

Regard the tortoises. I have spoken to a colleague who works at Wicksteed Park and she told me that they came from a rescue centre in Portsmouth

Remember the news about Wicksteed Park and Moulton College joining forces for Animal Welfare last month ? Well it's going really well and tortorises are settling in well in their new home since they arrived in December

So I see. One day Wicksteed Park would become a member of the BAIZA and EAZA. You never know they might set up a European Breeding Programme for Endangered Species and if they build a new zoo which might house Tapirs, Marmosets, Flamingoes, Penguins and more that would be the future to add as I did the survery the other day
