Wild Big Cats In Aus . . How about Wild Alligators???

Made its way south from the australian reptile park probably.
Na, i'm not blaming them but it is intruging.

From yesterdays paper tells of the EPA posting signs on Fraser Island and Inskip point (mainland) warning of Salt water crocodiles, now thats only 2-3 hours north of Brisbane, a number of animals have been seen in some of the creeks up tp 4 metres long. The "southern" limit have been about where Rockhampton is.

Well the Aust. Reptile Park north of Sydney breeds American alligators, and the story goes that they are careful to collect all the eggs. There are fears that if they miss any and they hatch, baby alligators would be able to get through the chain link fence and into nearby waterways.....

and judging by the size of the exhbit i find it hard to beleive they have gotten every egg.

Interesting... if true, perhaps they should just do something to the chain link fence.
A 20cm high strip of plastic all the way around would surely make their job much easier.

It Is true. it was all over the news yesterday - the Australian Reptile park Alligator egg collection. I don't think it would be as had as some think to collect all of the eggs. they have four females in the exhibit from what the news said and they spend a day collecting the eggs from the four nests. It was also in yesterdays telegraph. They think the alligator is privately owned and escaped or was let loose. it's being looked after wildlife carers and will most likely end up at mogo.
