Wild ginseng getting poached into oblivion

Like elephants, rhinos, tigers, and other animals, wild plants like ginseng get poached too. Wild ginseng is being poached into oblivion in Great Smokey Mountains National Park and no doubt in other parts of its range in the eastern U.S.

How difficult is it to grow ginseng commercially??

Anyway, I remember when in airports in Hong Kong and China, I was blown away by the prices of ginseng. They were in really ornate cases and displayed like mounted specimens/trophies.
