Manor House Wildlife Park Wild Welsh zoo

The primate collection is def displayed better now but they had more primate species when the previous owners were there. off the top of my head...capuchins and tamarins

I am dissapointed at the size of the gibbon islands, also i was very surprised they decided to build the tapir a new enclosure when they couldnt catch it! Seems unecesary, and also the public wil not be able to see it! As i said before i think they need someone a bit more experienced in charge rather than learning from their mistakes and wasting money.

The gibbon islands do look very small, I hope they are actually a bit bigger in real life in the flesh.
It didn't make sense to me either to build the Tapir a new enclosure, 123 animals is quite a small collection and a Tapir is one of the bigger, more intriguing animals, one of my favourites to be honest. I'd be pretty gutted if I could not see him, hopefully they've built a pathway or something to allow the visitors to see him.

Give them time,

No if this place was making mistakes that endangered the lives of the animals in care, bring on the remarks.

However any new owner is going to struggle if they don’t come from a background of working with animals. Take a look at Dartmoor zoo, they seem to be doing well now but it was chaotic in the first place.

Also are these observations from watching the TV show?

With it being so recent (september, last month!!!) and us being told at the beginning of the series that Rhinos were coming in October, I thought they might have mentioned something about them...

Any news anybody?

The last update in episode 6 was from the first week in October and never referred to the rhino

I think in an earlier episode they decided to give up on rhino temporarily (as in, until next year) and focus on the gibbons.

Anna wanted to have them in July 2010 although Colin wanted to put them back to October 2010. They were never coming this year.

Really, I got the impression it was 2009 not 2010 they WERE looking at acquiring them?

That's what I thought, because it was on the promotional material and the lady in the cafe said it was dissapointing they weren't coming as she had told friends and family and she felt embarassed..

Im sorry this series has come to an end I really enjoyed watching the place develop!

It was a very interesting series anna was also quite funny , though i don't think she meant to be lol. Hope they do another series next year and hopefully they will have more animals .

I missed the last eppisode of the series as i was out of the country, and it is no longer on the bbc i player. Does anybody know if it can be veiwed elswhere? Or provide a basic summary of the final episode.

Thanks

The male siamang Steve was moved to his new home with no problems , the female siamang Lisa was collected from Fota , their introduction in the new house went smoothly , the slide to the island was opened but Steve was very wary and only went onto the bridge , Lisa went onto the island . A couple of macaws were put into the old siamang cage .

Apart from saying that Steve had been alone since the death of his mother 6 years ago , confirming that he was bred there , I do not remember much else .

i clearly stated in my post that it is no longer on bbc i player, hence the reason i asked if it could be viewed anywhere else? things are usually only available for 7 days after the transmission date.
