Wild wild animals living on the zoo grounds

Funnily enough I just got back from Orlando and there were American white ibis just about everywhere. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has tons of them walking around and even flying above the park, and individuals really seem to like the Oasis and Discovery Island areas.

I also saw them at SeaWorld Orlando alongside roseate spoonbill, a species I’d previously never seen in the wild. Additionally a great blue heron was seen in Animal Kingdom as well.

Green anoles and fence lizards can be pretty easily seen, house geckos or mourning geckos, not sure on the species as flat tail and Mediterranean have been reported, can be seen around the zoo and inside reptile house enclosures.

Did they (the anole and geckos) come in with vegetation to the zoo itself or are they established in San Diego?

On my recent visit to the small collection at Tilgate Zoo in England,i saw wild Little Egrets in the lakes, probably popping by to say hello to the zoo's resident group? And an introduced Mediterranean Gecko in the walled garden. PS Whilst not exactly in the zoo grounds, Aesculapian snakes still persist as long Regents canal outside London Zoo

Toronto has a couple of wild species of what I think is some kind of sparrow or finch flying around inside their Indian Rhinoceros and African Rainforest Pavilions

The Toronto Zoo’s pair of Trumpeter swans are notably wild. They fly south in the winters, but always return to the pond in the Canadian Domain to nest in the summers. Despite being wild, they’re such a consistent presence at the zoo that the zoo has a good amount of signage up about them.

At the Assiniboine Park Zoo, wild Richardson’s ground squirrels are extremely common. The zoo’s wild population is frequently used for
