Wild World Resort - A zoo created in Minecraft

I have began working on an impressive zoo in minecraft, currently titled "Wild World Resort". While the Vanilla Version of Minecraft has some limits on the amount of Mobs/wildlife that I could use, I have decided to make a custom modpack in Version 1.19.2 and cram it full of mods to boost the biodiversity that I have to work with. Furthermore, I hope you all stick around with me as the development of "Wild World Resort" begins!!

Progress has began on the zoo! currently, I have 7 overarching areas of the zoo, themed to different geographical zones or biozones, with their own themed sub zones. Alongside this, there will also be Miscellaneous exhibits for various species too!

1. Realm of Africa - the savanha, Congo River Trail, Dr Africa's Research Camp, Lemur Landing

2. Asian Highlands - Tiger Hunt, Himalayan Hike, Den of Dragons

3. Land down under

4. Temperate Trek - Outdoor Trek, Indoor Trek

5. SEAVENTURE Aquarium

6. Southern Walk

7. Tropical Worlds

While the Miscellaneous exhibits have not been confirmed as of now, these zones will make up the majority of the zoo besides the whole backstage and the resort area.

If you have any further questions about the project, feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.

when I said "I have 7 overarching areas of the zoo", do note that these areas have not been built yet but rather these areas are in the concept phase. alongside that for exhibit signs, I am using a mod called "immersive paintings" which allows me to import custom made exhibit/habitat signs that I have personally made in Adobe express (these are still yet to be made)

The idea in mind is once the zoo is completed to release the modpack on curseforge and hopefully get a world download. Here is the current list of mods that add wildlife:
Note: this modpack is in Version 1.19.2 and is Forge only!

1. Alex's herps - Reptile add on for Alex's mobs
2. Alex's mobs
3. Aardvark's weird zoology
4. Ambient Additions
5. Aquaculture 2
6. Aquaticraft
7. Autumnity
8. Babyfat
9. Bettas
10. Better animals plus
11. buddies
12. Caracal mod
13. Creatures and beasts
14. Critters and companions
15. Ecofriendly
16. Ecologics
17. Endless ocean: aquatic adventures
18. Environmental
19. Environmental expansion
20. Epic aquatics
21. Exotic birds
22. Fins and tails
23. Good ending
24. Goodall
25. Lets go herping
26. Natural decor mod
27. Naturalist
28. Pangea Ultima
29. Pseudorygium
30. Safaricraft
31. Tropicraft
32. Untamed wilds
33. Unusual fish mod
34. Upgrade aquatic
35. Vanilla degus
36. Waddles
37. What the gecko'd
38. Zoobox
39. zoologicraft

other mods I have added are mostly for building or for food such as Chipped, Rechiselled, Supplementaries, Quark, Farmer's delight Etc. (there is a lot more with the total mod count being 85.)

if anyone has any suggestions for any more mods that I should, or features to the zoo, then I most likely will take this into consideration.

does anyone have any clue about what species of catfish this is? I was going to put it down on the zoo's species list as Mekong giant catfish but i'm not sure whether they can be kept in captivity.

also, I am split between 2 areas to exhibit this species: Asian highlands or Tropical worlds?

Zoo progress update:
Every species has now been collected and accounted for. I've organised them into chests based on which zone of the zoo they will go to! but first, some changes:

- Southern walk has expanded to become a larger outdoor area part of Tropical Worlds called Tropical outdoors. Alongside this, the addition of an Insectarium in the Tropics zone of the zoo (Tropical worlds Indoor complex, tropical outdoors + insectarium) makes this become the largest zone of the zoo.

now onto the species:

- Wild World resort contains approximately 493 species comprised of .....
1. 158 species in Tropics zone
2. 69 species in Realm of africa
3. 84 species in Temperate Trek
4. 44 species in Asian Highlands
5. 124 species in SEAVENTURE aquarium
6. 14 species in Land down under

overall, the zoo does feature a branched lineup of common zoo animals, but also some rare shows too!

Hello. it's been a few weeks since the last post on this thread. Instead of building just this zoo in Version 1.19.2, I have decided to challenge myself by attempting it through various different versions of the game.

the outcome of this idea is to eventually create a much broader zoo concept containing a larger variety of species that any zoo can offer with each modpack.

Here is the versions that I'll be doing it in (order of versions)

1. 1.20.1
2. 1.12.2
3. 1.19.2
4. 1.16.5

eventually once Version 1.21 gets more mod variety, I will aim to make another attempt at this zoo

Zootierliste says that there are six institutions that currently hold the species: one in Poland, one in Russia, one in the US, two in Japan, and one in Singapore

I'd personally say 1.16.5, but that's because it's what I'm gonna be using for my own Minecraft Zoo Builds I'm planning to post soon

To be fair, 1.16.5 does have the larger variety of species. This is mostly due to the amount of mods available for that version.

Speaking of these misconceptions between what species some of these animals are, I may be inclined to make a seperate thread for that.

I've taken some time to work on the planning Phases before building the first section of the zoo: The opening Plaza. In Wild World Resort, the Plaza acts as a gateway to the zoo and offers various ammenities, Habitats and Exhibits:

  1. Entrance Building which allows guests Access to the zoo
  2. At the far side of the Car Park, A monorail station gives resort pass owners access to the Resort and zoo (Currently Not in Plans as the resort area will be the last section I build)
  3. Information centre towards the start of the main zoo
  4. Opening Plaza Exhibits: Chilean Lagoon (Habitat for the zoo's Chilean Flamingos which has a raised boardwalk and window viewing points), Museum of Natural Wonders Building which might contain some animals (Still undecided)
  5. Toilet Block outside of Museum.
both the Chilean Flamingos and Museum share the same staff area as the Flamingo habitat is just outside.

Also, Just south of the toilet Block is a large staff area (there will be multiple staff areas throughout the zoo, this one is mainly to oversee the entire opening Plaza.

Finally, Gift shops and restaurants will be scattered throughout the zoo, not concised into one area.

Did you ever make this zoo in the end or has anyone on the forum done something similar before? I'm planning to build a Minecraft zoo as a little project over the festive period. I've got Alex's Mobs, Wizard Animals Plus, and Pseudorygium running in 1.20.1 and that combination of just three mods adds several hundred real species to the game.

I'm Currently still trying to work on the zoo. If you have any suggestions for like enclosure designs, mods to use Etc then let me know (with mods, mainly just a couple of lesser known animal mods and stuff to help with building).

Are you using WizardAnimalsPlus? You didn't mention it in your original list of mods but I really like the animal models from there and there's quite a few species and variants.

I updated the Mods im using from the original mods list. it's an entirely different set of mods, but it does contain the following that you mentioned. For your own zoo, I would Highly Recommend Untamed Wilds, another mod which adds a tonne of species.

I do not recommend using Wizard's Animals. Its main developer copied models from many different mods. That's why the bison look a lot like ZAWA's.
