Another new zoo, this one set in 30 acres of the Halfpenny Green Vineyard area in the heart of Staffordshire, is due to open around Easter 2016.
The park, called WILD Zoological Park, will be divided up into several geographical regions including Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Amongst the species that will be included are:
- Meerkats, otters, raccoons, coatis, skunks, kinkajou, civets, genets and Palawan binturong
- Small monkeys (common marmosets are pictured in one exhibit concept picture) and lemurs
- Wallabies, fruit bats and armadillos (the latter pictured in the same concept picture as the marmosets)
- An extensive collection of exotic birds including macaws and Southern ground hornbills
- Various reptiles, endangered amphibians and invertebrates
