Any idea which zoo?Limpopo will not stimulate Gus, because Gus will move to a zoo in Denmark.

CPH? At this moment no bull present, I think.Any idea which zoo?
According to Wildlands he is going to Givskud.Any idea which zoo?
I presume it’s to breed with the females, as similar to Gus, Otzee has not sired any children with the females either, which is odd, and in the same case of Dounia, Mazumba and Enkeling have both had calves in the past, but not with Otzee. I hope Gus can make a good impression on the girlsAccording to Wildlands he is going to Givskud.
Gus was recently examined and found to be fertile.I wonder if bull Gus/Flannery has ever been evaluated reproductively. My experience is that if it do not happen within 3 years of introduction it is not going to work. I remember the bull had issues with both conspecifics and other species on the Savannah (hence the exhibit entry point was altered to allow for the Wildlife to pass in and out of the exhibit.
That was the old facility, I believe the new facility has had rhino issues with not allowing other animals access to stalls or vice versa (really the cows, which ones ... as they only have 3).Gus was recently examined and found to be fertile.
Gus is also not the rhino involved in the incidents on the savannah, that were two of the females.
I did mean the new zoo (Gus never lived in the old zoo either). The rhino usually hang around the corridor towards the stables of the savannah. Because the area there had a funnel shape, the other savannah animals could not always get away from the rhinos if they wanted to when they were in that area. This led to two fatal incidents, the first with an ostrich and the second with a zebra. The ostrich incident was caused by Zahra, the zebra incident was caused by one of the other rhinos. At the beginning of this year, adjustments were made to the area around that corridor, making it less of a funnel shape. Because of this the rhinos were allowed to return to the savannah. That was the old facility, I believe the new facility has had rhino issues with not allowing other animals access to stalls or vice versa (really the cows, which ones ... as they only have 3).
It is somewhat disconcerting to see so many bulls in reproductive prime also being problematic breeders. It seems behavioral or at least unsatisfactory social groupings and incompatabilityI presume it’s to breed with the females, as similar to Gus, Otzee has not sired any children with the females either, which is odd, and in the same case of Dounia, Mazumba and Enkeling have both had calves in the past, but not with Otzee. I completely agree, it seems as if more and more bulls just aren’t breeding with the others. I counted 26 bulls (via the World Rhino website) in ‘breeding situations’, but haven’t bred for a while, or not breeding at all!It is somewhat disconcerting to see so many bulls in reproductive prime also being problematic breeders. This makes for a strong case to have bulls evaluated too if after 3=4 years still no result.Rhino male Limpopo arrived from the Beekse Bergen this afternoon. In the coming weeks he will get to meet the females and the savannah. The previous male Gus moved to Givskud Zoo yesterday. Otzee, the previous male of Givskud Zoo has moved to the male group of the Beekse Bergen. Examination has shown that he is infertile

Limpopo sired three young after his arrival at the Beekse Bergen. Two in 2017, one of which died after one day in an accident. And in 2020, his son Ravy was born. Was Limpopo checked (no calves except one since 2015).
Rhinoceros female Elena dies when introduced to new male on Wildlands savannah.
The new rhino male Limpopo arrived in the park at the beginning of this month and during the past week he was already successfully introduced to the more than 2 hectare large savannah and the various animal species, such as zebras, wildebeests and giraffes. There were no problems at all and the introduction went beyond expectations.
Today the most exciting introduction was planned. That of Limpopo with the two rhino ladies (and sisters) Elena and Zahra, with whom he would be allowed to breed in the future. The three have already been able to smell and see each other behind the scenes, each in their own part of the stable. The first meeting on the savannah started extra early this morning and before the opening of the park. Around 7.45 a.m. both ladies first entered the savannah, after which Limpopo was allowed to enter the area as well. From that moment on, things got restless: both females were startled by the man and instead of showing him his place, they both ran away. As a result, Limpopo went in pursuit. He seemed particularly focused on Elena, because she was closest to him. After about fifteen minutes both animals seemed exhausted. Elena walked towards a shallow pool of water and, probably due to her fatigue, slipped. She landed on her side in the water and could hardly get up. Limpopo remained standing near her, the animal caretakers immediately lured him away from her. Unfortunately, help for Elena came too late and she had already drowned.

Since the Nortica aviary was [REDACTED] by corona, WILDLANDS has started planning on creating a different enclosure there (Very much teased to be a beaver, but they haven't said it specifically)

The aviary is inside Momma's Resraurant. I also discovered that there was an aviary there only after several visits.According to ZTL, there's an aviary with Village weavers and Harlequin quails somewhere in the Serenga area. I've never noticed any aviary in Serenga, does anyone know the location of this aviary? Or have any pictures?
