Wildlands will build a new walk-through area in the zone that is now the bypass route for the Birdy Bush in the Rimbula greenhouse. This area will house seven species, including green iguanas, two-toed sloths, an aracari species, small South American primates and judging from the silhouettes on the drawing, possibly also two songbird species. The seven species have not been confirmed, the sign which you can see jncluded in the linked article and post for now only has silhouettes on it.

The introduction of black and white ruffed lemurs in Rimbula's lemur walk-through area has again failed, and the two male individuals are now off-show and will move to another zoo.

The new South American area within the tropical greenhouse should be a welcome addition.

As for the black and white ruffed lemurs ..., I wish they had never restanted this experiment and instead made the choice for a smaller lemur species from Madagascar, maybe Alaotran bamboo lemurs or crowned lemurs as a 3rd species would fit much better....

Well, it was a re-introduction. The original mix was Ring-tailed + Ruffed lemur, then they added the black lemurs which the Ruffed lemurs didn't like. They tried to introduce a new couple, that would maybe be less aggressive towards the black lemurs, but that didn't take. Also, they never said they wouldn't try for a third species later down the line

Ah, you beat me by... well, multiple hours actually...

A Loopings article also mentioned that they're thinking of possibly including one of the towers of the climbing parkour in the greenhouse into the exhibit's design, although I'm not sure what that would look like...

Additionally, here's a picture of the announcement poster with the silhouettes:

The guessing game over individual species can begin. Primate wise: front - golden lion tamarin? and up the tree ... white-faced saki? Of course, all just speculative...lol (and I am not usually into that kind of thing). I am sure it will be looking good. The Tropical Hall is always nice to wander about and just linger longer and you see so much stuff and new vistas every time you come in.

Golden lion tamarin and White-faced saki are both already held in the monkey temple. My best guesses are Goeldi's tamarin and Pygmy marmoset

Pygmy marmoset is already held near jungle Jim.

I’m guessing either the golden lion tamarins and white-faced saki’s are moving out of the monkey temple, or the silhouettes are goeldi’s monkey and coppery titi.

It sounds like another area of the Rimbula greenhouse is going to be fenced off. I’m not a massive fan of all the visable netting, I wish they had just added more species to roam. But at least we’re getting a few more species, even though they’re not really choice (very few species at Emmen ever where).

According to several people who were present that evening and posted something about it in a Facebook group, among others, they did mention some species. They did say, however, that the species are not 100% certain yet. The species mentioned are:

- Sloth
- Coppery titi
- Pied tamarin
- Iguana
- Aracari
- Brazilian tanager
- Troupial

That really is a nice species assemblage. Especially happy about both the pied tamarins and coppery titi! Well, actually the new birds are not too bad either....!

Timber, the zoo's Asian elephant breeding bull, moved to Eindhoven Zoo two days ago. Yesterday, a new breeding bull arrived at Wildlands from Zoo Heidelberg. It is 15-year-old Yadanar. He will first stay separately from the other elephants but will then be introduced to both the two young bulls and the three cows. For two of those cows, Ma Ya Yee and Swhe Zin, there is a breeding recommendation from the EEP.
