Wildlife magazines

I am thinking of getting a subscription to a wildlife magazine. I already subscribe to National Geographic, but I was after something more wildlife oriented.

Any suggestions?

Exactly, there is not better magazine than BBC Wildlife! :) Plus, with every issue comes free podcast on iTunes with lots of interesting guests and magazine contributors.

I was going to suggest Wildlife Conservation magazine.....but I forgot that it ceased publication recently.

BBC Wildlife should be the first thing you look at

I think that this is one of the best wildlife magazines around. As expected a bit of ab emphasis on British wildlife but excellent articles about the rest of the world.

There are some good wildlife websites out there also that I suppose would be the equivalent of good wildlife magazines.

Mongabay.com focuses on tropical wildlife science and conservation issues.

The Save the Elephants (Iain Douglas Hamilton's group) website has an e-mail listserv that you can sign up for that sends out elephant conservation and biology information on an almost daily basis. If anyone is interested in keeping up with either Asian or African elephants I would highly recommend that (it does generate a lot of e-mail updates). This is where I get many of the elephant news items that I post here.

Are there other wildlife websites that people read and would recommend?

BBC Wildlife sounds like an excellent suggestion. Cheers for that.

Great question, David. I would be interested in other wildlife websites that forumites read regularly (and are updated regularly). Maybe some of them have mailing lists? I check out Wildlife Extra from time to time.
